The following seven Inca Oracle card spreads were given to the authors by the Spirits who work with this project. The specific combinations emerged organically from the ancient Inca and pre-Inca cosmovision of the universe so carefully preserved by the Q’ero and by other indigenous peoples populating the Andes.
Used as a divination tool, the Inca Oracle provides the reader with an opportunity to inquire about an issue or question, to look at parts of his or her life, or to examine the entirety of one’s life from a spiritual perspective. The various spreads offered in the Inca Oracle act as unique lenses through which to see ourselves as Spirit sees us.
The seven spreads by name are:
- The Paqo
- Llama Eyes
- Temple of the 3 Windows
- The Three Worlds
- T'ika (Flower)
- The Four Elements
- The Andean Cross
In the Inca Oracle Guidebook, each Spread is explained in detail with times and/or types of questions appropriate to the use of the Spread.
T’ika is the Quechua word for “flower.” This Spread is concerned with the growth, development, and naturally occurring organic maturation of an issue. In the same way that a flower has roots, a stem, and a bloom, so might we look at our question. Working within the mystical nature of Andean spirituality, we can see the roots of our flower as holding hidden treasure; its stem projecting the visible gem; and its bloom as the expanded, sacred outgrowth of our subject.
This Spread is vertical, and correct order of the cards is important. The first card drawn is placed at the bottom. This represents the “roots.” The second card drawn rests in the center. This mirrors the “stem.” The third card drawn is positioned on the top. This represents the “flower.” (see illustration)
The Roots, or hidden treasure card may indicate one or more following aspects of the issue:
| Buried Wisdom |
Innate Intuition |
Deep Insight |
| Sleeping Knowledge |
Latent Potential(s) |
Nourishment from
Pacha Mama, Mother Earth |
The Stem, or visible gem card may indicate one or more following factors with regard to the issue:
| Awakened Knowledge |
Visible Structure |
Recognizable Validation |
| Overt Understanding |
Practical Support |
Already Known and
Useable Information |
| Discernible Clarity |
Well-Marked Pathways |
|
The Flower, or sacred outgrowth card suggests one or more following characteristics of the issue:
| True Spiritual Nature |
Highest Potential |
Blessing to Self or Others |
| Nonphysical Essence |
Expanded Being |
Divine Direction |
When to Use the T’ika Spread
The Tika Spread is most helpful around any issue, project, relationship, business, question, direction, construction, creation, or the like in which there has been, is, or will be, a developmental growing aspect with defined, clear maturational steps, stages, or levels of progression.
